Something of a tribulationist thought!!

I heard something last night that made me stop, think and join a few dots. It was said that the Antichrist would be a sodomite. A bit of archaic language for Gay I suppose. Many tribulationists tend to think that the tribulation could begin at any time. Ever since the Bible was finished every generation has had more reason to believe it could happen in their lifetime. Today it is even more fever pitched. We can point at so many things and say that there is good evidence to support the tribulation beginning. However. . .

What if the Antichrist is gay?!!!

I have heard it said that for one of the parties in the American election campaign it would be a choice between the first woman president and the first black president! The big question for that party is, "Is America ready for either?!" But an even bigger question would be, "Is America, or any other country, ready for an openly gay leader?"

The church is divided over the idea of gay marriage, and rightly so (By that I mean at least some people are still prepared to stick to God's standards!!) But if the Antichrist is gay then things have got to move on a pace first. Two things have to happen as I can see it, 1, Religion has to fully accept it and 2, society has to fully accept it. The Antichrist will position himself as both a religious and political leader. (Why? . . .)

If you look at the history of almost any country you will find that political ideals have come and gone but the religions have remained. Religion acts as the grandparents of society whereas politics acts as the parents. In cultures the parents often reject the teachings of their parents until they are grandparents themselves. While they have young children they are usually in the rejection phase and it is therefore the grandparents who pass on the traditional values to the children! In societies we see politicians rejecting the policies that were handed down, but the religion teaching traditional values. The Antichrist will take charge of both. Both a popular religion and a popular political system. The Roman Emperors and Egyptian Pharaohs were established as religious and political leaders. Constantine and Henry the Eighth were both such as Christian leaders!

For someone who is openly gay to take power over both both have to be accepting of such a thing. We are definitely moving that way, but we are not there yet. The other thing that can happen of course is that a person who is liked will be forgiven of anything! The charisma of the Antichrist will blind people to who sinfulness. You only have to look at the people within the media who are enjoyed by those who are equally opposed to homosexuality. It is almost a case of, "He's so funny, it's a shame he's gay!"

We have made homosexuals kings/ queens for years within the media, yet make such an outcry over the idea of homosexuality, it is a double standard. What was it James said about being double minded, "being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways." 1:8 and "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded." 4:8. Yet another reason to reject popular culture and media. It is double standards to approve of the adultery, murder and homosexuality that goes on in a film. We speak against it and then indulge in it!!

So will the way be made ready for the Antichrist or will he be established and then his sin be accepted afterwards?! I have a belief that Jesus can return at anytime, therefore we are not to look for any signs, however, we can judge the seasons and the there is a huge amount of turning going on as far as legislation regarding homosexuality!

Of course all of this is based on what I heard last night, and that was based on one verse, "He will show no regard for the gods of his fathers or for the desire of women, nor will he show regard for any other god; for he will magnify himself above them all." Daniel 11:37!! Does a lack of desire for women naturally make one a homosexual or a celibate? But we are talking about someone whose other title is "The man of sin!!" It would be odd if he were to appear as a loving husband and father of two!!
